Creating and Managing Store Locations for NewStore Payments

NewStore Payments customers need to create and manage store locations within their Connect Dashboards and within the NewStore platform prior to registering card readers/ terminals for those locations. Once store locations have been created within the NewStore POS platform, retailers can access their NewStore Payments Connect Dashboard and create the corresponding store locations.

Locations: This is where store locations/addresses are used to map NewStore Payment store locations to those that match the store locations within the NewStore POS platform.  Locations are also used in the registration process for the payment terminals.  When registering card readers, they must be assigned to a location, and multiple readers can be assigned to a location. Readers MUST be assigned to a location before it can be used to process payment transactions. See Registering Card Readers for NewStore Payments.

Zones: Zones can be used as optional grouping for the locations. Retailers may use Zones for geographical reasons (for example state or country/regions). Multiple locations can be grouped within a Zone and multiple zones may also be grouped into a hierarchical zone structure.

When creating locations, each country has varying address properties:

Registering Card Readers for NewStore Payments

NewStore Payments customers may use card readers for processing credit cards, digital wallet, and other forms of digital payments. As such, each card reader must be registered to a NewStore Payments location. See Creating and Managing Store Locations for NewStore Payments in order to first create the locations where card readers will be registered.

After creating NewStore Payments locations, customers will be able to assign or register multiple card readers to each of those locations. Card readers MUST be registered to a location prior to accepting payments. NewStore Payments supports
Smart Readers as part of its platform configuration.

Smart readers

Smart readers are registered by using the Registration Code (aka - Pairing Code).

Registration Code

When using the registration code method, Smart readers provide a pairing code (also known as a registration code) on the reader. When a reader has not been registered, the pairing code will automatically appear on the reader screen when it is unboxed and powered on. In the event the pairing code is not displayed, and customers need to re-register a reader or move the reader from one location to another, you can generate a new pairing code by accessing the admin settings of the reader. Once you have the pairing code, you can enter that in the Connect Dashboard when registering the reader to a location.

  1. On the Readers tab on the Terminal Readers page within the Connect Dashboard,  select Register Reader.

  2. Enter the pairing code on the reader and select Next.

  3. Provide a name for the reader. (Tip: if registering multiple readers in a single location, you can be creative in your naming - by choosing names such as “First floor, Front of Store, Station1, etc).

  4. Assign the reader to a location, or if you have not created a location yet, you may do so now.

  5. Confirm the details for the reader and select Register.
