# Updating images in App Store Connect

If you're looking to update your app’s screenshots or app preview without submitting a new build, **Product Page Optimization (PPO)** is your best friend. Here's a detailed walkthrough of how to do it, including how to make your changes live immediately.

---

### 1. Create a new product page optimization test

1. Log in to **App Store Connect**: [https://appstoreconnect.apple.com](https://appstoreconnect.apple.com)
2. Go to your app and in the left menu, select `Product Page Optimization`.
3. Click `Create Test` .
4. Choose a recognizable **Test Name** and select the **Default Page** as the baseline for comparison.

> [!TIP]
> Note
>
> PPO currently supports updating **screenshots** and **app previews** only. You cannot change icons, descriptions, or keywords using this method. If these changes are required, please get in touch with the NewStore expert services team.

---

### 2. Update screenshots and app previews

Once you’ve created the test, follow these steps:

1. On the new test page, scroll to the section where you can update assets.
2. Replace existing **screenshots** or **app previews** with your new files.
  - Follow Apple’s screenshot guidelines:
    - PNG format (no transparency)
    - Correct device frame dimensions (for example, 6.7", 6.1", 5.5", etc.)
    - Consistent order and visual language

You can preview how your updated assets will look on the App Store.

---

### 3. Start the test

When your changes are ready:

- Click `Start Test` in the upper right corner of the screen.

**At this point, App Store Connect prompts you to submit the test for review.**

- Minor metadata updates may be **instantly approved** by Apple's automated system.
- Larger or more sensitive changes (such as major screenshot shifts or UI inconsistencies) may **require an App Review**.

If prompted:

- Click `Submit for Review`.
- A confirmation screen appears. Click `Submit to App Review` to complete the process.
- Monitor the status from the PPO dashboard. Apple usually processes these requests within **24 – 48 hours**.

---

### 4. Apply the treatment to your live app page

Once your test is either:

- Instantly approved, or
- Reviewed and accepted by Apple,

A confirmation screen appears on the test dashboard. To make the changes **live for all users**:

- Click `Apply Treatment to Original Product Page`.
- Click `Confirm` .

The updated screenshots/app previews are published to your main listing. No new binary or full submission is required.

---

### 5. That’s It!

You’ll see a success message once the changes are applied. Apple typically takes up to **24 hours** to propagate changes across regional App Stores globally.
